My background is in journalism and online product management.
I was a technology reporter for The Wall Street Journal in both New York and London, and I have written about digital cinema for magazines including Rolling Stone. I have worked for local newspapers, a city magazine, and a national financial magazine.
I jumped to the Web in early 1996 as an editor for CondéNet, which back then was the digital arm of magazine giant Condé Nast. At CondéNet I worked on Epicurious.com and I launched the (since closed) Concierge.com travel brand, among other things.
In 1999 I moved to Virginia to work for America Online, where I did product strategy for AOL’s local, travel and search groups. I left AOL in 2007 to co-found Loladex, a startup that helped people to find local businesses recommended by their Facebook friends. After Loladex failed to catch fire, I helped to develop Web and mobile strategy for KaBOOM!, a D.C.-based non-profit that helps communities to build playgrounds.
In 2012 I shifted my focus to law, believing it was an arena where I could make a difference for the remainder of my career. As I gained legal knowledge, I realized I could combine all my skills to help worthy law firms connect with the people who need their help.
I’m proud to be doing this now for The Employment Law Group, which represents employees who stand up to wrongdoing by their employers. I became a principal at TELG in 2020.
